
What are you dependent on to feel happy, safe and loved?

It can be useful to pay attention to what you depend on to feel happy, safe, loved. These dependencies can become addictions and mean that we need to have a certain dynamic happening around us for our own happiness.
For example, only if person x phones me every day or I feel powerful if I am wearing a certain clothes, or I need a certain pen to be able to focus. All of these things are wonderful and useful but can tip into dependencies that rob us of personal power.
If you know you like these things and you are okay without them, then you have found a way to claim your personal power too.
Another aspect of this is when you feel responsible for someone else’s happiness which makes them dependent on you (something we can do as parents and partners), we rob ourselves and them of power and grace. These co-dependencies are complex and rich areas of personal growth.
