Forgiveness is the act of expecting the past versions of you to know what you know today

Forgiveness is the act of expecting the past versions of you to know what you know today

Forgiveness is the act of expecting the past versions of you to know what you know today.

In the words of Maya Angelou, 'do the best you know how to do until you know better. Then when you know better do better'.

However, what we normally do when we find out a new way, we use this as a way to beat ourselves up for not knowing before.

Life is about learning and growing. Forgiveness is a key ingredient for growth. It may even be one of the most profound steps of self-compassion and kindness we have.

Forgiveness doesn’t change the past, it opens up new pathways for the future.

You are free to choose to beat yourself up for the past or learn every day a new way forward.

May you free yourself from your own judgements!
