Emotional fear is only ever asking us to choose courage in life

After watching the movie, Inside Out 2, I can definitely recommend it as a wonderful way to explore the world of emotions.

One of my favourite parts of the movie, is where a couple of the emotions are falling through the air screaming and suddenly FEARS parachute opens up and saves them all. The other emotions turn to fear and say with great shock - you have a parachute! To which he answers - don’t we all?

In truth emotional fear is only ever asking us to choose courage in life. It’s bringing to our attention what we need to be aware of so we prepared as we face it. We are always more prepared than we believe. When we believe we are safe we will stop reacting and start finding the tools we have to deal with the challenges in life.

When we repeat the mantra, 'I am safe' over and over our nervous system can calm down and we can access the creative parts of our mind.

What would you do if you knew you were safe?
