Control is an illusion, a lesson in serenity

Control is an illusion, however we do have infinite power in what we use our time and energy for and how we influence the world around us. 

Control is a response to fear. We feel that if we in control we will have no surprises and in that way we will feel safe and “powerful”.

Yet our power lies in our ability to respond to life’s events. In a strange way, to surrender is to get comfortable with surprises. To feel safe and calm when life doesn’t go according to your expectations. To remain loving when people don’t behave the way that you think they should.  

I had a little giggle when I pulled this card because I couldn’t find the electronic image in any of the folders I have on my phone. How fascinating. I had to notice my own irritation and judgement at things not being where they supposed to be. A lesson in serenity.
